Twan van Gendt Wins BMX World Championship

Twan van Gendt of Team Oegema TVE has captured the BMX World Championship title in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. The 27-year-old saw his main rivals fall in the final, allowing him to cross the finish line with a substantial lead. With this, Twan becomes the second rider to become world champion with the support of Eurol Specialty lubricants.

Last year, Laura Smulders, a member of Team Oegema TVE, clinched the world championship. Laura then left the team, while Twan van Gendt made the switch to this successful team trained by Martijn Jaspers.

Martijn Jaspers, trainer & coach, on his experience with Eurol: “In top-level sports, it's about the details when you want to perform excellently. The use of the right lubricants is important in this regard. We have found that Eurol Specialty products provide optimal lubrication at the highest level.”

The partnership between Eurol and Team Oegema TVE began in 2018. A key objective is qualifying for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020. The team leads the way with its individual, personal approach in training and coaching under the guidance of Martijn Jaspers. This method is characterized by a scientific and analytical viewpoint, which is still quite unique in the world of BMX, globally.
