The Coronel brothers spend the night after stage 6 in the dunes after they hit problems early on. When the sun came up, the Coronels had to hurry their way to the of the special and back to the bivouac. After a short time and a little service to the car, the brothers could continue their adventure into stage 7. And that stage proved to be one of the best for the Dutchmen. Coronel finished in 26th place with a loss of only 1 hour and 44 minutes. They were held up by a flat tyre and had to finish the stage on soft tyres due to a problem with the inflate system.
asser Al-Attiyah lost some time to his main rival during stage 7. Still, the Qatari leads the race and qualified for a starting place in the first group for the Super Ica stage of Tuesday. Giniel de Villiers and Bernhard ten Brinke had once again a solid day with respective 6th and 9th places in the special.
Janus van Kasteren lost quite some time early on in the stage but found a good rythm during the rest of it. The Mammoet Rallysport driver finished the stage just outside the top 10. Gert Huzink and Ed Wigman continued their way in the semi-marathon and had a long day behind the steering wheel.
