Eurol in Dakar: Mission accomplished for the Eurol teams

Eurol supported the participants of the 2018 Dakar Rally. In the past two weeks they completed the most gruelling race of the world under extremely difficult conditions.

Peter van Merksteijn returned to the Dakar Rally with the aim to finish and did so successfully. Van Merksteijn finished the last stage in fifth place and reached an eighth place overall. He also became best Dutchman in the race. Tim and Tom Coronel finished their mission to reach the finish with the new Beast. The brothers finished 35th overall and are aiming to come back stronger next year.

Gert Huzink finished on seventh place overall after a solid rally by him, co-driver Rob Buursen and mechanic Martin Roesink. Steven Rotsaert finished the rally in 16th place and reached the end of the rally once again.

Kees Koolen had a Dakar to remember with his Barren Racer. Koolen finished the final stage in eigtht and captured the same spot in the overall classification. Bas Nijen Twilhaar had a good final day and came on 30th place to the finish of the stage.

Jurgen van den Goorbergh announced he will retire from participating in the Dakar Rally for now. Van den Goorbergh has done ten Dakars and finished the 2018-edition on his self build bike in the malle moto class. After ten great editions Van den Goorbergh now wants to focus on other things.
