Eurol in Dakar: Ten Brinke gains two places in fifth stage

Eurol supports the participants of the 2018 Dakar Rally. During the fifth stage on Wednesday Bernhard ten Brinke gained another two places in the general classification.

Ten Brinke and his co-driver Michel Perin were the big winners of the car race. The Dutchman finished second behind Stephane Peterhansel and moved into third in general. Tim and Tom Coronel had a day where everything worked well. Other than a small incident where they ended with the car on it’s side, it was a good day where they finished within the top fifty.

Gert Huzink finished the fifth stage in 11th place and dropped some place in the general order. Steven Rotsaert had two bad days but bounced back in the fifth stage by finishing in 17th place. Janus van Kasteren lost team leader Martin van den Brink of the Mammoet Rallysport squad in the fourth stage. Van Kasteren is now leader himself but he didn’t have much luck during the fifth stage. The debutant lost a lot of time early on and was actually the last truck to reach the finish.

Jurgen van den Goorbergh survived another big day in the dunes. The rider finished in 57th place and came home fourth in the malle moto classification. Van den Goorbergh is in the hunt for the malle moto podium.
