Eurol in Dakar: Ten Brinke in top five of the Dakar Rally

Eurol supports the participants of the Dakar Rally. Bernhard ten Brinke did The Netherlands proud in the fourth stage of the Dakar by finishing seventh and gaining a lot of positions in the overall classification.

Ten Brinke admitted it was a very tough day in Peru. “It was incredible tough”, Ten Brinke said afterwards. “We lost 25 minutes by searching for a waypoint, but in the end it didn’t matter because we found it and other cars made huge mistakes. We’re fifth in the classification right now, that’s a positive thing.” Ten Brinke is happy with the way his Toyota Hilux works at the moment. “I’m happy with the car. We could have easily crashed today, but that didn’t happen.”

Bikerider Jurgen van den Goorbergh agreed with Ten Brinke that the stage was immense tough for everyone. For him as a competitor in the malle moto category is it even harder without the assistance of mechanics. “This was a real stage, lots of people will suffer a lot to get to the finish. I’ve been searching for a waypoint for quite a long time. The bike is working well, so i’m happy.”

Gert Huzink finished the fifth stage in fifth place and took the same position in the truck classification. Ed Wigman has unfortunately retired from the race.
