Eurol in Dakar: Ten Brinke takes sensational stage 11 win

Eurol supports the competitors of the 2018 Dakar Rally. The 11th stage was an exceptional day for the Eurol-teams with a historic stage win by Bernhard ten Brinke and co-driver Michel Perin.

Perin has won some stages during his career, but for Ten Brinke it was his first real win in the Dakar Rally. He was also the first Dutchman to do so. Ten Brinke hold all other cars off during the queens stage of this Dakar. He’s now nearing his teammate for the third place in the general standings. Afterwards Ten Brinke said: "It feels really good. From the beginning till now, the cooperation with Toyota and Michel was exceptional. So far, okay, it's my best Dakar... but we must finish. I don't want to think about the podium now, I don't want to have pressure. I want to enjoy winning this stage.”

For the motorbikes and quads there was another marathon stage planned for wednesday. Jurgen van den Goorbergh completed the first part in 42nd place. Kees Koolen came home in 10th place in the quad-category, closely followed by Bas Nijen Twilhaar who reached the finish in 13th spot.

Highs and lows for the Eurol-trucks in stage 11. Gert Huzink finished on a rally-best fifth place and was the best Dutchman of the day. Steven Rotsaert completed the stage in 13th place en was the only other finisher. Janus van Kasteren of the Mammoet Rallysport squad had unfortunately to retire from the race due to technical issues.
